What is macrame?!
If you’ve never heard the word ‘macrame’ before, don’t panic: it’s a knotting technique used to produce different textile products, like plant hangers. This crafting skill has been around for thousands of years, dating way, way back to artefacts uncovered from the Persians and Babylonians, circa the 13th Century.
Your parents (and grandparents) aren’t THAT old, but they might’ve had macrame wall hangings in the 1960s and 70s (it’s giving ‘Boho chic’ vibes). But more recently, this technique made a comeback, largely in the form of macrame plant hangers. They maximise space and are versatile enough to match with just about any aesthetic.

First thing’s first: our macrame plant hangers are imbued with an incredible amount of craftsmanship. While they pay tribute to an old and much-loved technique, we’ve also peppered in our signature Do.Up flavour (#RejectTheOrdinary).
Made from all natural, sustainable materials – cotton, jute and mango wood – our macrame plant hangers come in a variety of styles AND colours (yep, you read that right). We don’t do boring, remember?!

Perfect for almost ANY space
You can mount our macrame plant hangers in places many earth-bound potted plants dare not go: suspended from the bathroom ceiling, outside on the balcony, or even swingin’ in the breeze in your kitchen window.
There really are no rules here – well, except for GRAVITY – so if you love your plants, our macrame plant hangers give you an excuse to love on them even more.
A variety of ways to install
We get our kicks from giving you options because variety is, as they say, the spice of life! As well as our new range of planters differing in design, they also differ in installation. A few of our macrame plant hangers do need a ceiling hook (our Mango Wood Ceiling Hook is PERFECT!).
But if you’re new to plant hangers, you might like to start with the Japanese inspired ‘Minoh’ collection, named after Japan’s Minoh Falls in Osaka. The mango wood mount comes with a built-in screw, ready to install straight into the wall, and its cascading cotton threads remind us of a waterfall, which is how the collection got its name.
As an added bonus, you can choose from small or large macrame plant hangers (to fit different sized pots) in three gorgeously neutral colours: natural, oatmeal and grey.
